Maintenance
If you do not spend the time to maintain your web presence, visitors will lose interest. Maintenance includes adding new content, updating the current content for changes and updating the design and functionality of the website. Visitor feedback can assist in maintenance, ensure a feedback form is included on your site. Maintenance on a static web site requires perhaps more work than on a database driven site. Static web sites require each page be edited for changes whereas a database site only requires the basic content be changed. Simple static sites can be maintained internally, whereas complex database sites may require the services of an outside programmer to update the site.
Remember, all decisions in the maintenance stage should be part of a feedback loop to your business plan. Your business plan may change or your web strategy may change during the maintenance process. Click HERE for a pictorial representation of the feedback mechanism.
