Business Structure And Taxation

A Business is an activity that you conduct for profit or with a reasonable expectation of profit. For GST purposes, there is no requirement to have a reasonable expectation of profit. There are four general types of business structures:

  1. Sole Proprietorships
  2. Partnerships
  3. Joint Ventures
  4. Corporations

The way your business is taxed has a lot to do with the way your business is legally structured. Click HERE for more discussion on Business Structure.

Careful planning with a Chartered Accountant is warranted. Contact Keith Anderson CA at (780) 447-5830 if you need advice.
